Samsung's Pink Instinct

Samsung has introduced the Instinct in Pink, the color that has taken the mobile phone world by storm. Beginning on January 13, 2009 Samsung customers could purchase the Samsung Instinct in the hottest color available – Pink, and at a red-hot price of only $99 after $100 mail-in rebate and 2-year contract. Savings like that will make the competition ‘pink’ with envy.

Samsung’s Instinct has been a huge hit from the moment it hit the market. Within days of becoming available it was the fastest selling EVDO mobile handset in Sprint’s history and it continued to pull record sales in through the 2008 holiday season. During the first two weeks of sales the Instinct account for twenty percent of all Sprint’s handsets being sold.

According to Kevin Packingham, Sprint’s SVP of Product Development, the Instinct has been a success from both the sales and the innovative perspective. By bringing the price under the $100 mark, Sprint will be able to offer more people the option of a touch screen phone and the best 3G network available.

Instinct Features

The Instinct in Pink is power-packed with the features and innovative technology customers are accustomed to receiving from Sprint and of course the powerful 3G network to back it up. Some of the features include:

  • Visual Voicemail which allows you to listen to your voicemail in the order you want with just the touch of the screen.
  • Advanced Bluetooth Stereo 2.0.
  • SMS Voice and Text Messaging.
  • Advanced, true HTML Web Experience.
  • Picture Caller ID.
  • Haptic feedback to allow users to feel the touch screen keyboard.
  • Up to 8GB of SD expandable memory.

Sprint and Instinct users recently gained the ability to access corporate calendar functions at no extra charge. With Sprint’s Mobile Email Work, users can view and update their calendar with appointments and more using their phone. This service works with Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM Lotus Domino accounts.

Sprint’s Instinct in pink is bound to continue Sprint’s Instinct successful sales record. In addition to sales records the Instinct has won Best in Show at the third-annual Emerging Technology award competition in April 2008 and was honored as Most Innovative Product at the CITA Wireless 2008 by editors or LAPTOP.
