AT&T has jumped ahead of the competition with the introduction of AT&T U-verse Voice, the name they have given to their AT&T Internet Phone Service. Currently the service is being tested in several areas in Wisconsin. AT&T’s Internet Phone service is their brand of VoIP.

The difference between AT&T’s U-verse and other VoIP providers is that AT&T uses their own fiber network and not the public Internet network. This is a next-generation move in VoIP. The service is not being introduced on an already traffic filled network but rather on an independent fiber-rich network.

AT&T U-verse users will also enjoy the convenience of having all their services bundled into on package. They can have their television, broadband, home telephone and wireless telephone all bundled into one package.

Features

U-verse is full of the features you would expect and many that go beyond your expectations. Included in U-verse are the following:

  • Combined Voice Mail: U-verses offers one centralized voice mail for home phone and wireless service. Users will always be able to access their voice mail no matter where they are.
  • Online Account Management: Manage all your accounts and preferences in one secure location.
  • Call Logs: Use your computer or television to access your call history.
  • Click to Call: Use your television or computer to initiate telephone calls.
  • Address Book: An online address book that is accessible from any computer no matter where you are.
  • Basic traditional features such as call forwarding, call screening, call blocking and do not disturb settings. 911 service is also accessible.

AT&T’s U-verse service has set the bar high for VoIP. With bundled services and a network with a history of reliability, users are bound to be amazed and thrilled with this new addition, pushing AT&T even further ahead of the pack for offering multiple services.
