AT&T’s 3G Network Expands In Florida

AT&T announced on February 9, 2009 the installation of 100 new cell sites throughout Florida. This wil expand AT&T’s 3g network in Florida to allow even more people to jump on the fast train of communication. Today’s busy lifestyles demand mobility and quickness, something AT&T is able to offer in more and more locations.
In addition to the 100 cell sites in Florida, there are plans for close to 600 more cell sites in the Southeast Region. These plans are just another step in making AT&T’s 3G network the largest, most reliable network in mobile communications, able to connect anyone, anywhere and in the fastest mode possible.
This addition of cell sites in Florida alone has been an investment on AT&T’s part of nearly $725 million dollars, an investment that should show great reward as more people are able to join the AT&T network of their mobile communication services.
The 3G network expansion in Florida will bring customers the opportunity to experience downlink speeds ranging from 700 kb per second to 1.7 mb per second using AT&T’s LaptopConnect. Uplink speeds are even higher. Offering these services and these speeds allows users to tap into other features offered by AT&T such as Vide Share , a mobile , video sharing service that can be used during a phone call. AT&T is the first to offer this new technology to mobile users.
Expansion Areas
Last year AT&T added new sites in the Florida areas of St. Lucie, Indian River, Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties, among others, totaling 50 new cell site locations.
With the expansion this year of a hundred cell sites in Florida the 3G network through AT&T is available in close to 350 major metro area s in the US, with at least 600 more cell sites coming to the Southeast Region.
AT&T’s commitment to being the biggest and the best mobile communications carrier is evident in the amount of money they are investing in expanding the 3G network. AT&T’s 3G network expansion in Florida brings almost all of Florida into AT&T coverage area.
