Many Verizon Wireless customers have been anxiously waiting to see
what, if any, changes would occur with the merge of Verizon and Alltel.
Alltel customers have been nervously awaiting the same news.

The good news for everyone is that the Friends and Family plan is
here to stay. Alltel customers can breathe easier and Verizon customers
can applaud.

Verizon Assists the Visually Impaired

Verizon, the most reliable wireless network in the nation announced TALKS for Verizon Wireless. This new program is geared specifically towards people who are blind or have a visual impairment. This new technology transforms visual text into audible speech.

Initially available on the Motorola Q9c smartphones starting on March 15, 2009 TALKS features support for audio feedback in order to write and read text in email, messages and notes.

NHL On Your Verizon Phone

Verizon has expanded their sports offerings on the FiOS TV to include the NHL. Now Verizon customers can access the NHL on their Verizon phone. NHL fans are as diehard about their hockey as football players are about their hockey and now they don’t have to feel left out in the cold.

By purchasing the entire season of NHL Center Ice games customers receive a package that includes up to 40 games in the NHL that are out-of-market games and also certain games from the Stanley Cup Playoff’s first 2 rounds.

NFL on Your Verizon Phone

Verizon Wireless kicked off an online experience that is unique for football fans. Verizon will now offer the NFL on your Verizon Phone. Verizon will offer this for 8 key games.

Football fans that just can’t live without their football will have access to a customizable virtual broadcast booth. Customers will have access to multiple camera aspects that they select.

The NFL Network Game Extra will allow customers to have online access to many features such as up-to-the minute game stats, drive chart simulations, live chats with other game viewers, live audio and more.

Verizon Declared Fastest

PCMag.com and its subscribers have overwhelmingly declared the Verizon FiOs the fastest and most reliable Internet service in the US. This included being faster than all cable providers and covered customer service satisfaction as well.

PCMag.com asked readers who used broadband to participate in real-world testing of Internet speeds. SurfSpeed, and independent Internet speed measurement application was used for the testing. They were also asked to rate their level of satisfaction with their ISP.

Verizon Promotes 1-800-THE-INFO

Verizon surprised six lucky callers in November of 2008 with the “Rock My Room” promotional contest for its 1-800-THE-INFO service. Randomly selected callers to the service were awarded prizes ranging from a complete sound and entertainment system to American Express Gift Cards.

I-800-THE-INFO is an information service very much like directory assistance, only better. For one thing, it’s free. There are no charges for using the service no matter how often you use it.

Verizon Held Teleconference to Offer Information on the New V CAST Music with Rhapsody Feature

Although this may seem like old news it is something that you need to know about if you are not a Verizon customer. Verizon has created a partnership with V CAST Music and Rhapsody to bring customers a lot of music.

This was an important teleconference because V CAST Music with Rhapsody is the first mobile subscription service; in other words, you won't find this service with any other cell phone company.

Now, Verizon Business has expanded the service to include not only police officers, but fire as well as other safety personnel in public services.

This network lets everyone communicate through phone, radio, or email during a crisis or an emergency no matter what communication system they use. There is no problem with incompatibility because Verizon has figured this out.

If you are wondering how you can help save the environment from global warming and you are a Verizon customer, you can do this very easily by signing up for their Green Billing system. You will also help to get new trees planted with their new program.

Customers are asked to sign up for the paperless billing option and because you are doing something to help save the environment, they will also plant a tree for each customer who registers for the Green Bill and Auto Bill pay. They will do this until October 1.
